We are,

LNP (Leh Nutrition Project) is a non-governmental organisation based in Ladakh, with over 40 years of expertise. With a focus on creating enablers, our goal to promote a model of sustainable development, conscious of its environment, local people, culture and driven by people's proactive participation.

Voices from communities we work with

We were 9 groups, consisting of 8-9 women in each; LNP took us for an exposure trip for seedling training, kitchen garden and also provided us with greenhouse polythene meant to help us to become independent and earn a living. LNP also gave financial assistance to some of us for constructing a manure decomposition structure. Since the support, I have been able to produce good quality vegetables, and earn income from it.

I have been part of LNP’s children committee. I learnt more about my village. I also got to learn about issues affecting my age group and the community. It has been a valuable experience so far. I am motivated to be more responsible and help our village people.

The temperature even in winter now is low for the glaciers to form properly. But now with the artificial glacier, we have plenty of water during spring and even before spring sometimes. This water is extremely important for the sowing season. The artificial glacier has indeed been of great help, and with the support, we have received from LNP, we hope we will be able to reduce water scarcity in the village.
